Brisbane French Festival

2010 and beyond ..
Following on from the success of my French Affair Expo in 2009, I was approached by members of the Brisbane French community to join forces to create a signature event to celebrate Bastille Day each year .. and the Brisbane French Festival was born.
A talented and hard working committee volunteer their time to bring the festival to life each year. I began as the vice president of the organising committee, but after moving to Sydney, I am no longer involved in running of the event.  However, I am excited to attend every year as a stall holder.
In early July, just before Bastille Day each year, the hard working volunteer committee present the Le Festival.  For the weekend, the Cultural Forecourt at Southbank, Brisbane is transformed into a little corner of France.
Le Festival is a wonderful success boasting:
#  Two days and three nights of French inspired fun
#  Around 30,000 visitors
#  Many generous sponsors including community grants
#  Around 80 stalls
#  Masterclasses, children's activites and special events
#  More than 100 performers on the main stage and roving entertainment
#  A full time festival director, 6 volunteers on the management committee, 28 volunteers on the year round committee as well as over 360 volunteers for the festival days.
Thanks to the fabulous committee, the generous support of sponsors and the enthusiasm of Francophiles from Brisbane and further afield, this festival has become one of the largest and most successful French Festivals in Australia, giving visitors a real French experience in the heart of Brisbane.
